Aweber Autoresponder

Aweber is one of the premier autoresponder service providers in operation today.

Why do I need an autoresponder you say? It automates one of the many processes that we as internet marketers use on a regular basis. Lets go through the basics of an autoresponder for those who are starting at square one.

An autoresponder collects, or captures, email addresses of your visitors who sign up to your list. The autoresponder then sends a reply email that you specify when setting up your list. The reply could be a simple “thank you for subscribing”, a message to confirm your subscription (this is known as a “double opt-in”, or a message with a link to another page or download that was offered as an incentive to signing up. The double opt-in is a good idea but I have to admit that I don’t always use it.

You may want to set up a series of auto-responses to an opt-in. It could be something like a series of lessons or reports pertaining to your niche, quick sales pitches for a product or products, or just about anything you might want to repeatedly get in front of your subscribers. These are automatically sent at the intervals you specify when setting up the list. The best way to do this is to compose all your follow-up email messages and load them into your Aweber (or other autoresponder) account, specify when each is to be sent, and just like that, you’ve automated what could be a very time intensive process.

Think about it for a minute. If you only have a handful of subscribers it’s no big deal to send these replies to your list. What if your list grew to 100, 500, 1000 subscribers? It would require all your time to do this one mundane task. With an autoresponder at work, you won’t need to invest the time and effort into sending those replies to each of your subscribers.

The other nice thing about Aweber and other autoresponders is that they provide you with code to paste into your site that generates the subscription form right there on your site. Once you create your list and any replies you wish to be sent, you then can generate the capture form from Aweber’s intuitive interface. You have control of the text that appears on your capture form, the color, the graphic elements like arrows, buttons, etc. You then paste the code onto your site and it is automatically linked to your Aweber list. Congratulations, you’ve just saved yourself untold hours of work.
